You don’t know frustration until you’ve had a family member get sick and then the medical bills drive them into bankruptcy.  It happened to my brother when he got colon cancer.  They didn’t have health insurance, he lived for two years fighting all the way, and when he died his wife lost their house and they declared bankruptcy.

Well, because he had colon cancer young (44), I am supposed to get colonoscopies every three years.  Early detection is the most important part of this disease.  When I worked at my job in University Heights I had great medical insurance, so I got the scope three times, on schedule.  But I left there in 2006 and don’t get health insurance from freelancing.  I was supposed to get my colonoscopy early this year, but couldn’t afford the $3000.
