It was a starter marriage, as they call it.  So after four years, a lot of fights and no kids, I left my husband and started looking at apartments.  I found one not far from my job at the Miramar Marine Corps Air Station, which was a lot easier commute than from our apartment in El Cajon.

The landlord requires a security deposit of one-and-a-half month’s rent.  I was pretty sure I could afford the $800 rent, but to come up with another $1200 did not seem possible.  In that marriage, we both mismanaged our money.  We ran up the credit cards, couldn’t make the monthly payments, got behind on rent once.  I had almost no money saved and bad credit.

But I’m resourceful if nothing else, so I went on the Internet.   I Yahoo searched “fast cash” an “car title loans no credit” and found Car Title Loans in San Diego.  You fill out an online application so you can avoid those car title places on Camino Ruiz. That wouldn’t be pleasant for a single girl like me.  I had my money the following day and signed the lease that afternoon.
